Veteran Flooring was established in 2013 by Darren Nelson. In the retail flooring industry since 1995, he's worked for various flooring companies throughout the area. He has taken his knowledge and contacts to create a welcoming experience at Veteran Flooring.


His military background was as a Combat Engineer (Airborne) 1989-1993. This included two years in Germany while attached to NATO with C/78th (AMF) Eng. BN and C/237th (AMF) Eng. BN. He ended his tour at Ft. Bragg with C/27th Eng. BN (Combat Airborne).


Darren trained in multiple countries under the Allied Command European Mobile Forces (AMF) including Germany, Denmark, France and 250 miles above the Artic Circle in Norway.


While attached to C/27 Eng. BN (Airborne) at Ft. Bragg, he went through Island Occupation Operation in Puerto Rico, Ranger Mountaineering Course in Dahlonega, GA, Special Forces Desert Survival in White Sands, NM and took off in more planes than he landed in.


Darren has lived in Livingston County since 1994, but is originally from Bluefield, West Virginia.
